Marine Corps Veteran | Filmmaker
CHRISTIN ST. JOHN is currently in the MFA Program at Tisch for Film & Television at New York University. Christin graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 2014. She was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps in November 2016 and deployed as a Communication Strategy and Operations Officer throughout Europe and Africa 2018- 2019 specifically, Italy, Spain, Germany, Uganda, Ghana, France, Finland, and Romania. In Aug 2020, she resigned her commissioning from the Marine Corps in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and moved to New York City to attend NYU. Her academic experience spans both narrative and documentary filmmaking, which has allowed her to develop a versatile skill set across various film content styles.
During her time at NYU, she was recognized as a finalist for the Arts in the Armed Forces writing competition, a recipient of the NYU Grad Film Black Family Prize, and a winner of the Spike Lee Grant. In addition to her studies, she gained hands-on experience as a Business and Film Intern at the Cannes Film Festival, a Cinematography Intern at NFL Films, and a Cinematography Intern with the Tampa Bay Rays. After graduating, she plans to continue as a Writer/Director in the film industry.
